Can Chequedb replace PST EZ-Scan?
In most cases, yes — but honestly, it depends on what you use EZ-Scan for. EZ-Scan is a real, working product with genuine depth: it controls many scanner brands, captures MICR and images, supports operator verification, produces X9.37/Check 21 files, ACH/BAI exports, and its Remittance edition handles coupons and check-to-coupon matching. If you are running a small, stable Windows operation and it works, there is no urgent reason to move. The problems show up at scale: per-workstation licensing with USB dongles, COM DLL and registry installation, Access databases with 2 GB limits, batch-only output with no modern API, and upgrades that are per-endpoint projects. Chequedb takes over the capture, recognition, validation, workflow and output roles with flat-rate pricing (no per-scanner billing), fully on-premise deployment, built-in handwriting OCR, and a case management suite. Where EZ-Scan genuinely remains competitive is in its mature, proven batch workflow — if your operation is small and static, we would be honest that the switch may not pay for itself.
