Predecessor to the TellerScan TS250. The workhorse teller scanner for a decade of bank deployments. Networking required an external SecureLink adapter (not built-in). Resolution was 300 dpi at 45W power consumption. Replaced by the TS250 in 2024, which added built-in Ethernet-over-USB, 600 dpi sensors, and automated cleaning.
This scanner includes a magnetic MICR read head that reads the iron-oxide-encoded characters at the bottom of the cheque. The magnetic signal provides a primary read for the routing number, account number, and cheque number. An optical read of the same characters is typically used as confirmation or fallback.
For the downstream processing layer — normalizing the raw MICR string, extracting fields, running validation, and surfacing exceptions — see the MICR reader page.
Discontinued hardware
This model is no longer in production. It is included in this catalog because many installations still run older hardware. Chequedb's scanner SDK integration supports legacy scanner families via TWAIN and ISIS drivers where vendor support continues.
